The "girls" of Tops had a retreat this past week up in the mountains at Big Bear, California. We stayed at the beautiful home of Sheila and her parents tucked away among the pines of Big Bear.
We spent four days rejuvenating ourselves by taking walks in town exploring the ins and outs of all the little shops. We even took a nature walk through the woods, identifying the wild flowers and fauna, and taking pictures. We had a bunch of little "work shops" where we discussed dietary needs, exercise and nutrition.
We attended a cooking demonstration at one of the local kitchen stores. Very interesting and informative. Afterward, we brainstormed on how to improve on the kiesh pie she prepared by using lower calorie
ingredients.
While some of us took up a new knitting project that we learned from the Knit Whit sisters (twins) in town. The others did cross word puzzles and Sudoku, all of this in an effort to improve our brains.
Sheila cook a wonderful meal of Spaghetti alla Bolognese and Janice contributed with a delicious salad and rolls. The next night we had another wonderful meal made by Daisy of Cuban Fried Rice. It was all way too good!! For breakfast we had some healthy home made bran muffins and coffee cake made by Shelia.
All in all we had a wonderful time.
See pics below of our little group out for lunch at the Mill Creek Manor Tea Room.
