I'm finished with this "little" baby blanket. I must say it's not the best job, but I'll blame it on the yarn. So hard to work with. I wrapped it around my little Virginia Irene. It barely covers her. Oh well, it was a learning experience!

Quote of the Day
I came across this quote today and had to share it:
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

Santa Barbara
Good news and bad news. The good news is -- we went to Santa Barbara for lunch today. We ate at Los Agaves Restaurant. It was the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The bad new is that I probably ate way too much. Going to forgo supper tonight. This is a web site if you are interested. Prices were very reasonable. http://www.santabarbara.com/dining/review_read.asp?pk_restaurant=1540

Afghan maybe?
Well, I have started a new project. This yarn started out to be a baby sweater, but the yarn was way too heavy for a baby sweater. Then I decided to make it a baby afghan. Started knitting on big needles --- kept dropping stitches, turned out to be a big mess. Then decided to crochet it -- turned out to be too tight of a stitch. Now, have gone back to knitting. This time on a size 13 needle. Hope it will be just right. I have maybe three or four more days on it before finished....

Spring is Here!
The following are some tomato, pepper, and, blueberry plants from our yard, along with some spring blooms. Well, not all flowers are Spring, they just seem to do better in Spring. Last year we had so many tomatoes we didn't know what to do with all of them. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

Windy day in Ventura, CA
Today was a windy day and I thought it might be a good time to take a picture of "two trees," a Ventura landmark. The sky wasn't exactly the way I wanted it to be, but at least it had a few clouds.

Winchester aka Chess aka booboo
Since our adoption of Winchester was an "open adoption," I want his previous parents to see his latest pictures and hear of his activities. He seems to be a very well adjusted kitty. He loves to eat, and every chance he gets he's into his food dish. He is sleeping through the night, although once in a while he'll get up for a midnight snack.
He loves to play with his toys, especially a bird like toy from his Aunt Kristy.
Take a look:
